EREZ TADMOR PREMIO ALLA CARRIERA PKF 2023
Il premio alla carriera del PKF va quest’anno ad Erez Tadmor, regista e sceneggiatore, protagonista del cinema israeliano contemporaneo da oltre vent’anni. Artista prolifico sulla scena israeliana e internazionale contemporanea, Tadmor ha sperimentato vari linguaggi e generi della Settima Arte. Passando dalla commedia d’autore al dramma, dal cortometraggio al film, il regista nel corso della sua carriera ha realizzato varie collaborazioni con autorevoli colleghi. Il suo cinema ha accompagnato inoltre la storia del Pitigliani Kolno’a Festival, che nelle varie edizioni ha presentato le sue opere.
Nato in Israele nel ’74, Erez Tadmor è cresciuto a Netanya e ha studiato cinema presso la scuola Camera Obscura di Tel Aviv. Il suo Il suo primo cortometraggio, “Moosh” (2000), ha vinto premi nei festival di tutto il mondo, dagli Stati Uniti all’India.
Dopo la laurea, Tadmor ha collaborato con il regista premio Oscar Guy Nattiv e insieme hanno diretto “Strangers” (2003). Anche questo cortometraggio si è rivelato un successo, raggiungendo e vincendo molti premi nei festival internazionali.
Il secondo cortometraggio di Tadmor e Nattiv, “Offside” (2006) ha vinto lo Short Film Award al Manhattan Film Festival 2006. Al festival, i registi hanno vinto un budget per dirigere un film, e così nel 2008 hanno sviluppato il lungometraggio “Strangers” già presentato al PKF. Il film ha partecipato a decine di festival, tra al Sundance Film Festival e il Tribeca ed è stato venduto e distribuito in 28 paesi del mondo.
Il secondo lungometraggio di Tadmor co-diretto assieme a Sharon Maymon, “A Matter of Size” (2009), già presentato al PKF, è una commedia drammatica su un gruppo di persone in sovrappeso di Ramla che hanno fondato un club di sumo. Il film, presentato al Tribeca nella categoria “Discovery”, ha conquistato il pubblico internazionale e raggiunto in Israele 300.000 spettatori alla 14ma settimana in sala. Con 13 nomination per il premio “Ophir”, “A Matter of Size” ha vinto vari premi e i diritti per il remake di sono stati acquistati dalla Paramount.
“Magic Men” (2014, in collaborazione con Guy Nattiv), è il suo terzo film, è un viaggio intimo, commovente di un padre e un figlio nel nord della Grecia (4 nomination al premio Ophir).
Nel 2015, esce “Wounded Land” che racconta la storia di quattro poliziotti costretti a sorvegliare un terrorista suicida, che ha colpito a Haifa e non è rimasto ucciso.
Segue “Home Port” (2016), scritto con Shlomo Efrati, poi il cortometraggio “Falls” che ha vinto l’Ophir nella categoria miglior cortometraggio, poi “Sirens” (2017). Nello stesso anno ha co-scritto con Ben Khalifi la serie televisiva americana “Tycoon” diretta dal regista franco-americano Louis Latreia. Nel 2019 ha diretto e scritto un lungometraggio intitolato “The art of waiting” che ha avuto molto successo in Israele.

EREZ TADMOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD PKF 2023
The PKF Lifetime Achievement Award this year goes to Erez Tadmor, director and screenwriter, protagonist of contemporary Israeli cinema for over twenty years. A prolific artist on the contemporary Israeli and international scene, Tadmor has experimented with various languages and genres of the Seventh Art. Passing from auteur comedy to drama, from short film to feature film, the director has made various collaborations with authoritative colleagues throughout his career. His cinema has also accompanied the history of the Pitigliani Kolno’a Festival, which has presented his works in the various editions.
Born in Israel in 1974, Erez Tadmor grew up in Netanya and studied cinema at the Camera Obscura school in Tel Aviv. His first short film, “Moosh” (2000), won awards at festivals around the world, from the United States to India.
After graduating, Tadmor collaborated with Academy Award-winning director Guy Nattiv and together they directed “Strangers” (2003). This short film also proved to be a success, reaching and winning many awards at international festivals.
Tadmor and Nattiv’s second short film Offside (2006) won the Short Film Award at the 2006 Manhattan Film Festival. ” already presented at PKF. The film has participated in dozens of festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival and Tribeca and has been sold and distributed in 28 countries around the world.
Tadmor’s second feature film co-directed with Sharon Maymon, “A Matter of Size” (2009), previously presented at PKF, is a comedy-drama about a group of overweight people from Ramla who set up a sumo club. The film, presented at Tribeca in the “Discovery” category, conquered international audiences and reached 300,000 spectators in Israel in its 14th week in theaters. With 13 nominations for the “Ophir” award, “A Matter of Size” won various awards and the rights to remake were acquired by Paramount.
“Magic Men” (2014, in collaboration with Guy Nattiv), is his third film, it is an intimate, moving journey of a father and son in northern Greece (4 Ophir Award nominations).
In 2015, “Wounded Land” was released which tells the story of four police officers forced to guard a suicide bomber, who struck in Haifa and was not killed.
This is followed by “Home Port” (2016), written with Shlomo Efrati, then the short film “Falls” which won the Ophir in the best short film category, then “Sirens” (2017). In the same year he co-wrote with Ben Khalifi the American television series “Tycoon” directed by the French-American director Louis Latreia. In 2019, he directed and wrote a feature film called “The art of waiting” which was very successful in Israel.
